Motivate

What’s the Secret?

Motivating employees is a greatly misunderstood subject. How do you generate enthusiasm, attitude and motivation in your people?

Motivation – The Magic Spark

There has been a lot written about motivating employees, but let’s look at it from the viewpoint of performance and production. What’s the magic spark that will set this off?

It doesn’t matter whether you’re dealing with a Sales Executive, a Warehouse Manager, or an Accounts Person; if you want them to produce well, they need to be motivated. Your performance management system needs to be focused just right.

Enthusiasm Says It All

Have you ever had the pleasure of watching an employee who is so enthusiastic about their job that nothing seems to stop them? It may not happen very often, but when it does, it is joy to behold.

But is there a way to tap into this high driving power and channel it to other people in your organisation? Yes there is: click here to see the solution to this conundrum on how to motivate employees.

Top Performers Have More

A really effective performer who produces the results you need generally has more to offer than simply good performance. If you were asked to describe the “perfect” employee, your wish list may well include some of the following attributes:-

  • Integrity
  • Dedication
  • Reliability
  • Sense of Ownership
  • Loyalty

You can probably think of more, but this list will suffice to demonstrate the point. If we talk about a totally ideal world, these would be some of the key attributes you would want in your employees.

A Matter of Attitude

There is an elusive “something” that every manager yearns for in each of their employees: attitude!

“Get me someone with attitude. I’m sick of these people who just don’t have what it takes.”

Have you ever heard that before? It’s usually said with a modicum of frustration (or even anger) in the voice. But what is this mystical thing called “attitude”? More importantly, is it something that can be manufactured, or called forth, as a genie from the lamp? Motivating employees is the key to this.
